Obituary for Jonathan David Olson
Jonathan David Olson, 56, Altus, moved from this life into the loving arms of Jesus on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at his home. He is rejoicing with Mom, Dad, and Mark, and many others that have gone on before him.
Jonathan was born on April 6, 1969, in Charleston, South Carolina to Duane Rueben and Doris Mae (Jacobson) Olson. As a military child, he grew up all over the United States and attended schools in Duncanville, TX, Grand Forks, ND and Altus, OK. Jonathan worked various jobs and was a handyman by trade, always looking to be self-employed. He recently completed a 13-month program at Sonrise Adult and Teen Challenge program. After completing the program at Sonrise Adult and Teen Challenge, he returned to Altus and volunteered at Operation Care. Despite all his struggles, he still touched so many lives.
Jonathan was a friend to all he met. When he knew you, he claimed you as family for life. He was always willing to help others when help was needed. He will be missed by family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Mark Olson; one child, Baby Olson; and a nephew, Davis Smaaland.
Those left to honor his memory are his two sons, Brandon Olson and wife, Kayla Hinkle, and Michael Olson and wife, Kaitlin; his grandchildren, Jesse, Brayden, Imalyn, and Imrie; two sisters, Deanne Clayborn and husband, James, and Karen Smaaland and husband, Larry, a sister-in-law, Amalia Olson: nieces and nephews, Lonny Ivey and Darby Garcia, Amber Barton and husband, Dennis, Sarah Woods and husband, Brian, Jesse Smaaland and wife, Ashton, Thomas Olson, Alberto Mendez and wife, Lorenia, Victor Mendez and wife, Paloma, and Maria Fernanda Mendez; and many great nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Grace New Life Fellowship with Pastor Amalia Olson and Pastor Joe Clower officiating. Inurnment will take place in the Altus City Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory.
