Obituary for Johnny Millard Patten
Johnny Millard Patten, a lifelong resident of Willow, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2020 at Grace Living Center in Mangum, Oklahoma at the age of 91.

Johnny was born in Sayre, Oklahoma on September 29, 1928, to his parents John Royal Patten and Cora Lee (Farrel) Patten. He was raised in the Willow and Spring Creek Communities, where he proudly graduated at Ocina High School with the Class of 1946. During his school years, Johnny was a standout baseball player where he excelled at the catcher's position and played in several different leagues, including American Legion ball. In June of 1948, Johnny married the love of his life, Imogene (Mayfield) Patten on the family farm in Willow where they enjoyed over 45 years of marriage together until Imogene's untimely death in 1993. Johnny farmed cotton, wheat, and cattle while working at the Willow Gin until the 1950's where he started working at the Willow Co-op Lumber Yard until the 1970's. Johnny was a life long farmer, and after working at the Co-op, he went into peanut farming full-time in Willow. He was a longtime member of the Spring Creek Baptist Church, and the most important parts of Johnny's life was farming and family. He will be tremendously missed by many.

Preceded in death by his wife, Imogene Patten, his parents, John and Cora Patten, and his sister, Anna Lee Smith. Johnny is survived by his two children: Randy Patten and his wife Sonya of Willow and Karen Mitchell and her husband David of Willow; four grandchildren: Tori Thay Britton and her husband Bradley of Willow; Tanner Patten of Willow; Heath Mitchell and his wife Karley of Elk City; and Hayley Mitchell of Willow; two great-grandchildren: River Britton and Allie Britton; and one great-grandchild just announced on the way. Johnny is also survived by lifelong friends and fellow classmates: Ed Tatyrek, Juanita Hopper, and Dorothy Thomas, as well as other family members and many friends.

Private Family Graveside Funeral services will be held at Willow Cemetery in Willow, Oklahoma officiated by Pastor Matthew Riggs of Spring Creek Baptist Church.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Greer Funeral home, Mangum, Oklahoma.
