Johnie Lee (Junior) Bogart, Jr., age 73, of Mangum, passed away at Deaconess Hospital, on Thursday, January 13, 2011, in Oklahoma City.
Junior was born on January 20, 1937, in Reed, Oklahoma to Johnny Lee Bogart, Sr. and Cinderella Coleman. Shortly after his birth, the family moved to the farm between Reed and Vinson. After graduating from Vinson School in 1956, he continued farming. Charlotte and Warren Herndon setup a blind date for Junior and Doris Hogue and three years later, on September 21, 1957, he married Doris Hogue and they spent the next fifty-three wonderful years together. They established their first home in Mangum and he lived there until his death. A farmer and rancher all of his life, Junior loved spending his spare time with his family, especially his sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by three sons, Carl Bogart and special friend, Bonnie Allen of Mangum, Curtis Bogart and wife Kayla of Mangum and Keith Bogart and wife Kimberly of Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren, Stephanie Bogart, Sarah Bogart, Tara Jo Kissinger, Amber Bogart, Brent Bogart, Kayli Manning Bogart, Monte Bogart and Tori Bogart; five great grandchildren, Hannah Bogart, Callie Griffis, Dawson Kissinger, Kyndal Christian and Chevy Bogart; one sister Wilene Herndon and husband Richard of Lahoma, Oklahoma along with many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Junior Bogart will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, January 16, 2011, at the Abundant Life Church in Mangum. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.
