Obituary for John H. Key Jr
John H. Key, Jr., age 85, a resident of Arapaho, Oklahoma and formerly of Levelland, Texas, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2008 in Clinton, Oklahoma.
John was born in Archer City, Texas on September 13, 1922 to John Henry and Gladys Minerva (Hamm) Key. On September 26, 1943 John married Frances Marie Rockey in Bovina, Texas and they were married for over 64 years before John passed away. John served his country during WWII in the United States Army and was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for over 38 years in the Oil Field and Pipeline Industry for Bobby Taylor Construction in Levelland, Texas. John liked playing dominoes, cards, and Skip-Bo in his spare time and he always enjoyed being with his family. John was a great husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend and he will be missed very much.
Preceding John in death were his parents, John Henry and Gladys Minerva Key; one son, Richard Dale Key; one brother, Marvin Key; two sisters, Florene White, Frances White; and one grandson, Marty Dale Key.
John is survived by his wife Frances Marie Key of the home; three sons, John L. Key and his wife Debbie of Odessa, Texas; Raymond Key of Clemburne, Texas; James V. Key and his wife Frances of Arapaho, Oklahoma; one sister, Ellen King and her husband James of Arkansas; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Graveside Services for John H. Key, Jr., will be on Friday, February 1, 2008 at 3:00 p.m., at the Arapaho Cemetery with Pastor Charles Murphy officiating, under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Clinton.
