Obituary for John Cochran Hall
John Cochran Hall, age 45, of Altus, passed away Saturday afternoon, January 19, 2013, in rural Greer County, northwest of Mangum, Oklahoma, as the result of an aircraft accident.
Mr. Hall was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on May 23, 1967, to John Ray and Muriel Janice (Morrison) Hall. Moving to San Antonio, Texas at a young age, the family later moved to Port Lavaca, Texas where he graduated from Calhoun High School. After graduation, John joined the United States Air Force where he proudly served for over 20 years. His first assignment was to Griffis Air Force Base, New York where he was a B-52 crew chief. He later cross trained to become a C-5 Flight Engineer and was transferred to Travis Air Force Base, California where he met and married the love of his life, Lynn Alix Fellinger, on August 24, 1993, in Reno, Nevada. After Travis AFB the spent time at Altus, AFB, Geilenkirchen Germany with the NATO Command where john was an Flight Engineer on the E-3A, back to Altus AFB where he retired on May 31, 2006. For a short time, the family moved to Lake Charles, Louisiana and then back to Altus where John began working as a civilian at Altus AFB for Boeing, L3 and then CAE, until the time of his death. John loved his family dearly and attended every event possible that his children were involved in. In his spare time he enjoyed flying, hunting and fishing.
Preceded in death by his father, he is survived by his wife, Lynn, of the home; two children, Jake Hall and Emily Hall of the home; his mother, Muriel Hall of Port Lavaca, Texas; one sister, Lynda Darilek and husband Tom of Port Lavaca, Texas; two brothers, Wesley Hall and wife Carlene of La Vernia, Texas and James Hall and wife Jenny of Port Lavica, Texas along with many other relatives and a host of friends from all over the world.
