Obituary for Joe Nathan Davis
Joe "Randy" Davis, age 51, passed away Wednesday morning, February 9, 2011, at Quartz Mountain Medical Center, in Mangum.
Joe was born in Mangum, Oklahoma, June 13, 1959, to William Lane and Jewell Henderson. After graduating from Mangum High School in 1977, Joe attended college at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, in Weatherford. After working for a short time in Pampa, Texas he moved back to Mangum in the early nineties and married Linda Davis. For the last fifteen years, he has worked at American Gypsum, formerly Republic Gypsum, in Duke, Oklahoma. Working on old cars, enjoying his music and riding his motorcycle were the hobbies Joe enjoyed most.
Preceded in death by his mother, Jewell Hurd; his adopted mother, Evelyn James; two sisters, Jewell Hurd and Etta Hurd and one brother Stanley Lane, Joe is survived by his wife Linda, of the home, in Mangum; five children, Arrie Davis of Mangum, Nick Davis of Mangum, Jazumin Davis of Louisiana, Octavia Cormier and husband Brandon of Louisiana and Antione Brown of Texas; one grandchild, Vida Davis of Louisiana; his father and step-mother, William and Liz Lane of Oklahoma City; five sisters, Ernestine Chase, Tammy Lane, Tracey Lane, Kelly King and Tangelia Lane; five brothers, Donnie Hurd, Freddie Hurd, Jimmy Hurd, Terry Lane and William Lane, Jr.; grandmother, Etta Henderson; two aunts, Peggy reed and Donnie Green along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services for Joe "Randy" Davis will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, February 15, 2010, at the First Baptist Church, in Mangum, with Pastor Joe Jackson and Pastor Shawn Johnson officiating.
Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.
