Obituary for Joe Edwin Hurley
Mr. Joe Edwin Hurley, age 76, of 701 N. Hightower, Altus, died May 22nd, 1976 at Neodesha, Kansas.
Funeral services have been set for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday May 25th, at the Methodist Church with the Reverend Whity Gober officiating. Burial will be in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.
Mr. Hurley was born August 3rd, 1900 in Johnson County, Texas and he was married to the former Maudie Walker in Altus in 1968. He was a retired Justice of the Peace and belonged to the Methodist Church. Mr. Hurley belonged to the Odd Fellows for 35 years and was a lonmg time resident of Altus over 50 years.
Survivors include: his wife, Maudie of the home in Altus; two daughters, Mrs. L. D. Ray and Mrs. Ralph Latas, both of Wichita, KS; one son, Gil Hurley of Altus; a brother, J.W. Hurley of Las Animas, CO; a sister, Mrs. Frank Johnston of Duke, OK; ten grandchildren; one step-son, R. D. Walker of Yuma, AZ; two step-daughters, Mrs. Joe Ford of Lawton and Mrs. Frank Rush of Dallas, TX; six step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
