Obituary for Joe Earl Billman
Mr. Joe E. Billman, age 53, of 1377 Canterbury Blvd., Altus, died early Thursday morning at Jackson County Memorial Hospital of an apparent heart attack.
Funeral services have been set for 2:00 P.M. Friday at the Altus Air Force Base Chapel, officiated by the Reverend James Mahan and assisted by Chaplain (Capt.) Robert Krauss. Graveside services will follow on Saturday at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Ft. Worth Texas. Arrangements are with Lowell Funeral Home.
Born June 20, 1925 at Ft. Worth, he was married September 10, 1949 in Ft. Worth to the former Jean Smith, who survives of the home in Altus. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, a member of the Altus First United Methodist Church and at the time of his death, was a Civil Service employee assigned as Base Education Officer at Altus Air Force Base.
Additional survivors include: two sons, Joe Billman, Jr., presently at sea with the U.S. Navy submarine Service and William James Billman of Houma, LA; one daughter, Mrs. Jeannette Diffendaffer, of Rocky, OK; one sister, Mrs. Jack Russell of Ft. Worth; two brothers, William Byron Billman of Wichita, KS and Paul Henry Billman, Jr., of Ft. Worth, TX; four grandchildren.
