Jimmie H. Lake, age 86, of Blair, passed away late Saturday, February 11, 2017, at English Village Manor, in Altus.
Mrs. Lake was born in Grapevine, Texas on August 30, 1930, to James H. and Edna Ruth (Cummins) Smith. Growing up, attending school and graduating from Grapevine High School, Jimmie, married the love of her life, Lonnie Wheadon Lake, on December 24, 1949. After sixty-four wonderful years of marriage, Lonnie preceded her in death on September 24, 2014. With Lonnie serving as a Pentecostal Church Minister, the family lived in several different locations before making Blair their home in 1982. In her spare time, Jimmie enjoyed crocheting, cooking, singing and playing the piano, but serving her God and caring for her family was most important to her.
Preceded in death by her parents and husband, she is survived by 9 children, Lynn Forster and husband Pete of Blair, Treeva Slacke and husband Jim of Melbourne, Florida, Rena Brannon and husband Mike of Blair, Gail Tutten and husband Tommy of Blair, Weldon Lake and wife Luella of Hawaii, Nita Farrington of Altus, David Lake and Jennifer of Blair, Loyd Lake and wife Delena of Martha and John Lake and wife Bobbie of Altus; fifty-four grandchildren, forty-four, great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and along with many other relatives and friends, there were several nieces, nephews and other relatives that Lonnie and Jimmie served as parents for throughout the years.
In keeping with Jimmie"s wishes, the family will hold a memorial service at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 18, 2017, at Faith Lutheran Church, 2401 N. Park Lane, in Altus. Cremation services have been entrusted to Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, of Altus.
