Obituary for Jesse B. Coats
Jesse (J>B.) Coats of Altus, Oklahoma was born August 2, 1916, in Garvin County, Oklahoma, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joshua T. Coats. He was a longtime resident of Altus. Mr. Coats passed away Tuesday, January 29, 1997, in Altus City Cemetery with Sonny Tims officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. On October 15, 1949, he and Della Lackey were united in marriage at Anadarko, Oklahoma. J.B. was a self-employed Landscaper. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include wife Della Coats of the home, children; Dr. Jesse Coats and wife Mary of Houston, Texas, Wayne Coats and wife Loretta of Altus, Oklahoma, Randy Coats and wife of Altus, Oklahoma, James Coats and wife Tonya of Altus, Oklahoma, Paul Coats and wife Sally of Vernon, Texas, Jaquetta Fox and husband John of Charlotte, North Carolina, David Coats and wife Jo Ann of Altus, Oklahoma; sister Dolly Pislak of California; sixteen grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters; two daughters; Florence Forraine and Donna Kay Coats; one grandson Lucas A. Coats.
