Jerry Lynn Tinney, 65, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2010 in Oklahoma City.
Jerry was born February 3, 1944 in Altus, Oklahoma to William B. and Chalton (Ledbetter) Tinney. He graduated from Martha High School in 1962. He was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Martha. He worked as a machinest for Johnson Machine Company until his retirement in 1979 due to his health. He had been a resident of Willow Park in Lawton, Oklahoma for the past ten years. He loved living there and was known to comment "It"s the best I"ve ever had it!" when referring to Willow Park. The staff called him "Our Baby" because of his happy, loving personality.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by two brothers, Gary Wayne Tinney and Benny Ray Tinney.
Jerry is lovingly survived by two sisters, Patty (Tinney) Mullins and JoNita (Tinney) Autiener; one sister-in-law, Sandra Tinney; several nieces and nephews; and by several cousins including Dale Ledbetter of Duke, Oklahoma, Jackie Ledbetter and Lynn Brown, both of Altus.
A memorial service has been scheduled for 3:00 pm, Friday, February 12, 2010 at the Altus Centennial Memorial located in Altus City Cemetery. The Rev. Kevin Baker and Mike Brown will be officiating. Lowell-Tims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
