Obituary for Jerry Dale Manney
Jerry Dale Manney was born on November 4th, 1958, to Wilmer Wynes Manney and Betty Archer-Manney. He went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 19th, 2026, at the age of 67 years, 3 months, and 16 days.
Destined to be a farmer, Jerry spent his childhood working hard alongside his dad and brothers. He viewed life through a light-hearted, comedic lens. He lived life to the fullest, and was an avid sports enthusiast. He was known as greyhound for his lightning fast speed. He graduated from Gould high school in 1977.
After high school, Jerry went back to work on the farm with his dad. He met the love/burden of his life, and wife of 45 years, Elizabeth Louise Grose. They were married on August 8th, 1980.
Jerry's other passion was raising show pigs. He and partner Rex Roberson ran R&M show pigs together. They raised numerous champion pigs. Jerry thrived on the communal aspect of the sport. He could often be see in the corner of kids that weren't his. He wanted to see everyone succeed, But he did have a special bond with his oldest granddaughters. Papa's pink team was a force to be reckoned with, and the envy of every dad/grandad around!
Besides farming and raising pigs, Jerry was a volunteer firefighter for the Gould fire department, and worked stints for Jackson County and Republic Gypsom. Jerry was so much fun to be around, and made friends wherever he went. He was known to many as their favorite "uncle" Jerry. He loved having friends over to play cards, and later in life going on trips and visiting casinos, and chasing the grandchildren supporting them in their activities. Of all of Jerry's accomplishments, the biggest one is the way he loved his family. All of his children know the Lord, and that is a legacy that will go on generationally.
