Obituary for Jennifer Diane Hawkins
Jennifer Diane Hawkins, age 53, formerly of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at the Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Jeni was born to Nick and Jualie (Moran) Smith on November 2, 1965, in Norman, Oklahoma. She was raised and educated in Norman. Following high school, Jeni attended Oklahoma Community College and received her bachelor's degree in Physical therapy from the University of Oklahoma. Being a physical therapist fit Jeni well because she loved to help people. Where ever she went she always made a connection with someone and would make life long friends in an instant. She had a passion for helping people, she would drive across the country to help a friend who needed a new home and bring them back to help them get on their feet, be a friend and confidant to one of her children's friends, or writing a young solider who she had never met. She truly loved people. June 21, 2008, she married Robert Hawkins in Altus, Oklahoma. They made their home in Hollis, Oklahoma. The Hawkins family relocated to Bixby, Oklahoma in 2011. In September, 2017 Jeni retired from Physical Therapy to stay home with her youngest daughter Jualie. She was a proud member of the United Pentecostal Church of Broken Arrow. Jeni enjoyed traveling with her husband, genealogy, crocheting but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was greeted at the gates of heaven by her Mother Jualie Smith, and father in law Bob Hawkins.
Left to honor her memory are her loving husband of twelve years Robert Hawkins, of the home, three sons; Steven and wife Katherine of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Steven Hawkins of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Cody Tripp and Wife Nikki of Topeka, Kansas, three daughters; Melissa O’Patrick of Norman, Oklahoma, Megan Corbin and husband Dillon Corbin of Sentinel, Oklahoma, Jualie Hawkins of the home, father; Nick Smith of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, one brother; Joshua Smith of Marquette, Michigan, one sister April Koerner of Norman, Oklahoma, mother in law; Sandi Hawkins of Altus, Oklahoma, numerous grandchildren, and all her brother and sisters of the Muskogee (Creek) Nation Lighthorse Police Department.
