Obituary for Jay Chadwick Jordan
Dr. Jay Chadwick Jordan, age 27, passed away Thursday, October 7, 1999, at his home in Altus, Oklahoma. Jay was born December 10, 1971 in Brookhaven, Mississippi to Joe and Patsy Jordon. Jay's family moved to Altus in 1980, where he attended the Altus Schools for 10 years and graduated in 1990. After attending Southwestern Oklahoma State University, Jay attended the University of Oklahoma School of Dentistry and graduated in 1996. Jay married his best friend, Angie Thompson, on July 30, 1994. Another joy arrived with the birth of his son, Chad, on August 2, 1997. Jay lived his life with great courage and optimism and was an inspiration to all his family and friends. His faith in God allowed him to be a blessing to all who knew him.
Jay is survived by his wife, Angie, and son Jay Chadwick Jordan Jr. of Altus. He is also survived by his parents, Joe and Patsy Jordan of Altus; his brother Tim Jordan and wife, Connie of Colony, Oklahoma; two sisters, Jodi Sorrels and husband, Jay of Largo, Florida, Jill Fayak and husband, Brian of Norman, Oklahoma; his grandmother, Mrs. Jewell Grady Jordan Sr. of Brookhaven, Mississippi; his nephew, Jordan Fayak; his three nieces, Stacey and Alyssa Jordan, and Graci Fayak.
He was preceded in death by two grandfathers, P.L. Smith and Jewell Grady Jordan, Sr.; grandmother, Mrs P.L. Smith.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, October 9. 1999 at 11:00am at the First Baptist Church in Altus with Rev. Keith Wiginton and Rev. Keith Wiginton, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Visitation will be at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Friday, October 8, 1999 from 6:00 pm until 9:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, a trust fund has been established for Jay Chadwick Jordan Jr. in memory of his father at the First State Bank of Altus.
