Obituary for Jaunita E. Pryor
Juanita E. Pryor was born December 15, 1915 at Amoscow, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of the late George O. and Mary Jane (Benson) Elmore. Juanita died May 2, 2001 in Altus. She graduated from Blair High School in 1933. After graduation she married Roy B. Pryor, December 23, 1933 in Altus, and he preceded her in death July 12, 1992.
Jaunita worked for Bill Cargal Grocery, Cecil Chastain, Junior Cargal, and Ellis Cargal also in the grocery business. She later worked for United Supermarket on South Main as a checker and then at the North Main United Supermarket. She was a resident of Jackson County most of her life and a long time member of the first Baptist Church of Blair. Her hobbies included quilting, yard work and cards.
Survivors include three daughters; Sue and Jack Todd of Blair Oklahoma, Barbara and O.W. Dollins of Altus, Oklahoma, Linda and Ray Bob Burden of Evergreen, Colorado; one sister Emma Sue Roberts of Miami, Florida; fifteen grandchildren and great grandchildren; Kevin and Brent Burden, Mike and Jay Todd, Justin Buxton, J.J. Gray, D'Ann Williams, Susan Todd, Jaime Gray, Dustin and Ashley Hasley, Kylie Todd, Sam, Ben and Thomas Burden.
Jaunita was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers and six sisters, and grandson, Steve Todd in 1991, and one great-granddaughter, Amber Mcbride in 1986.
Services are scheduled for 10 am Saturday May 52001 at the First Baptist Church of Blair with Dr. Roy McDaniels and Ardron Hinton officiating. Interment will follow at the Blair Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
The family of Jaunita Pryor will receive friends Friday May 4, 2001 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home from 5:00pm to 6:30pm.-
