Jauneice McDuff, 87, of Mangum, Oklahoma passed away Monday, January 13, 2014, at Grace Living Center, in Mangum.
Zelma Jauneice McDuff was born February 13, 1926 in Idalou, TX to Clarence and Idahlia (Dixon) Martin. Jauneice graduated from Borger High School in 1943 and lived most of her adult life in Greer County.
She married Theo "Excell" McDuff on November 17, 1945 in Buena, Washington. He passed away six months short of their 60th wedding anniversary. Excell and Jauneice rededicated their marriage to God on February 28, 1982. Throughout their marriage they kept the Lord Jesus Christ at the center of their life. Together they created a life-time love story of One in Christ"One in love.
Jauneice accepted Christ as her Savior at age nine and was a member of First Baptist Church of Mangum. She was a devout Christian who modeled Christ"s love through her daily life. Soft-spoken and Godly women, she remained faithful in church attendance until health issues entered her life.
A strong family-oriented woman, Jauneice was also an avid fan of the Oklahoma Sooners and Boston Celtics. She was an accomplished seamstress. Other interests and talents included gardening, camping, canning, reading, cooking, and crocheting.
Survivors include her sons Theo and wife Celia of Wichita, KS and Alvis of Clinton, OK; daughter Zelma Haines and husband Terry of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren, Stephanie Hamby and husband David of Lawrence, KS, David Haines of Toronto, Canada, Nathan Haines of Portsmouth, VA, and Christopher Brandon McDuff of California; two great-grandchildren, Taylor and Logan Hamby of Lawrence, KS; sister Clarenceine Lesikar of Edna, TX; two sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and several nephews, nieces and friends.
Jauneice was preceded in death by husband Excell, son Martin "Marty" McDuff, parents Clarence and Idahlia Martin, brother Farris "Tex" Martin, and daughter-in-love Toni McDuff.
Funeral Services for Jauneice McDuff will be Friday, January 17, at 2 p.m. at the Greer Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Ron McDuff of Carlsbad, New Mexico officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.
