Obituary for Janet Sue Malloy
Janet Sue Malloy, age 76 of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus.
Janet was born in Hobart, Oklahoma on May 21, 1944 to her parents Wilbur and Christine (Hankins) Coffelt. Janet was raised in Mountain Park, Oklahoma and helped her family run the local cafe and was baptized at the Mountain Park Baptist Church. She was a proud graduate from Mountain Park High School and went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford. On December 31, 1966 Janet married Tom Malloy in Jerseyville, Illinois and they have enjoyed over fifty-three years of marriage together. Janet was an Elementary Teacher for over thirty years teaching at Olustee Schools and Sunset Schools in Altus before retiring. After her teaching career, Janet went to work for Frazer Bank for ten years and fully retired in 2020. Janet loved OU sports, she loved to fish, watch sports, and she especially loved spending time with her family and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents Wilbur and Christine Coffelt; Janet is survived by her husband Tom Malloy of their home in Altus; two sons, Tommy Malloy and his wife Tracy; and Michael Malloy and his wife JoAnna; one daughter, Jera Stobaugh and her husband Justin; one brother, Bill Coffelt and his wife Tina; one sister-in-law, Sharon Shanks; eleven grandchildren, Lindsey Coughlin, Natalie Quinonez, Josh Adrian, Justin Adrian, Alexis Adrian, Meredith Malloy, Braden Stobaugh, Benjamin Malloy, Anton Anderson, Justin Stobaugh, Jr., and Joey Stobaugh; three great grandchildren, Jack Coughlin, Grace Coughlin, and Oliver Glisson; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and many friends.
Memorial services will be at 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Chapel with Larry Duffy officiating.
