Obituary for James Richard Faulkner
James Richard Faulkner, age 75 of Altus passed away Thursday, March 15, 2001 at Southwest Medical Center in Lawton.

He was born June 23, 1925 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to John Luther and Oza Eva (Smith) Faulkner. In 1947 in Lubbock, Texas Jim and Connie Anderson were united in marriage.

He entered the United States Army November 5, 1943 in Lubbock, Texas and was honorably discharged January 22, 1946 at Ft. Sam Houston, Texas.

Mr. Faulkner had lived in the Altus community since 1954 having moved here from Lubbock, Texas. He worked at Altus Air Force Base in Civil Service as a mechanic for many years until he retired. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Elks Club, VFW Post #4876 and the American Legion.

He is survived by one daughter, Lynn R. Bates and her husband William T. of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; three sisters, Bernice Boyd and husband Arthur of Omaha, Texas, Alice Beard and husband Jack of Avery, Texas, Faye Davenport of Spring Valley, New York; two brothers, Eddie Faulkner and wife Paula of Paxton, Illinois, Elton Faulkner and wife Peggy of Lubbock, Texas; two grandchildren, James M. Bates and Laura R. Bates of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and a very special friend Mary M. Jones of Altus, Oklahoma.

He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Kenneth Faulkner, Johnnie Faulkner, Aubrey Faulkner.

Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, March 20, 2001 at 2:00pm in the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Wiginton officiating. Interment will follow in the Altus City Cemetery officiating. Interment will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
