Obituary for James Earl Hill
James Earl Hill passed away unexpectedly on August 23rd, 2011, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus.
Jimmy, as he was called, was born on December 1st, 1972, in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Jimmy graduated from Rising Sun High School in Rising Sun, Maryland. He worked in construction roofing, remodeling, and all aspects of construction. He was currently employed with Blair Construction for Dennis Davis. Jimmy lived in Blair for the last year and previously had lived in Altus since 2004. Prior to this, Jimmy had lived in Maryland. Jimmy was of the Pentecostal faith.
Jimmy was a personable guy and well liked. He loved to grill and steaks were his specialty. Everyone who ever ate one of his steaks bragged on his culinary skills. Jimmy loved sports. He played JV football in school and was known as "Guts Jimmy". He was the smallest player on the team but the boldest, and he sacked many a quarterback. He has many trophies. His favorite baseball team was the Baltimore Orioles, and he went to many of their games. He loved Nascar and Jeff Gordon was his favorite.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his wife of 10 years, Dawn Marie Long Hill, who passed away August 18, 2004; his only sister, Racheal Marie Hill, who passed in August of 2003; his maternal grandparents, James Hill and Janet Horn Hill of Rising Sun, Maryland; his paternal grandparents, Smith Earl Parsons and Callie Mae Childress Parsons of Abingdon, Virginia; and a nephew Adrian Alejandro Steiner of Altus.
He is survived by his mother Janet Marie Hill Herrera of Altus; his father Robert Jean Parsons of Nottingham, Pennsylvania; two brothers, Robert Gene Hill and wife, Rebecca of Colora, Maryland, and John Martin Hill and wife Diane of Rising Sun, Maryland. He is also survived by his uncles, James Ronald Hill, Larry Hill, Roy Hill, Denny Hill, all of Oxford, Pennsylvania, Garry Hill of Conowingo, Maryland; two aunts, Donna Steiner of Altus, and Angela Eisenfelder of Rising Sun, Maryland; nephews, Andrew Hill, Matt Hill, Jacob Hill, Ethan Steiner; nieces, Marisa Cantu, and Malina Hill, and fianc"e Tina Geigle. Jimmy will be greatly missed and is loved without time or measure.

Jimmy Hill will lie in state Saturday, August 27, 2011, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus. Services will be held at a later date.
