Obituary for Jake Karns
Jacob "Jake" Daniel Harold Karns, age 30 of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2020 at the VA Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
Jacob was born in Oscoda, Michigan on August 9, 1990 to his parents Laura Marie (Haas) Karns and Daniel Patrick Martin. Jacob grew up in Altus, Oklahoma and graduated Class of 2009 from Altus High School. Jacob volunteered to serve his country in the United States Army. He served two enlistments and received an honorable discharge as well as numerous other awards and decorations. After his time in the Army, Jacob returned home to Altus where he was most recently the Assistant Manager for the Peartree Apartments in Altus. Jacob loved his job at the Peartree Apartments and he loved to help those in need. Jacob loved playing football and watching football, he enjoyed watching WWE wrestling, fishing, and using his tools and working on his vehicle. Jacob loved his family and he enjoyed talking and spending time with them whenever he could. He was always willing to help anyone in need and would have given the shirt off his back if someone needed it. Jacob was a kind and gentle person with a heart of gold.
Jacob is preceded in death by his father, Daniel P. Martin; and surviving Jacob is his mother, Laura M. Karns; his three sisters, Tiffany M. Smith; Patricia L. Cady; and Heather M. Karns; nieces and nephews, Braxton, Braelin, Bruce, Brynleigh, and Bayzleigh Smith; Keira and Paul; Chloe, Lexi, JeauLynn, and Bradley; as well as other family members and many frinds.
The family will greet friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday evening, September 25, 2020 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Chapel in Altus, Oklahoma with Military Honors rendered by the United States Army.
