Obituary for Jackie Ray Combs
On September 1st, 2021, Jackie Ray Combs went to his heavenly home. Jackie was born to his parents, Otto Bryant Combs and Minnie Ola (Houtchen) Combs, in Duke, OK, where Jackie grew up. Jackie graduated from Duke High School, where he was an active member of the baseball and basketball team. After graduation, Jackie went on to attend Sayre Junior College. In his life, Jackie has lived in Duke, OK, Altus, OK, Amarillo, TX, and Lathrop, MO. Jackie worked at Auto Convoy up until his retirement in 1999. On December 16, 1961, Jackie married the love of his life, Bonita Faye Murphy Combs. The two were married for 46 years. Together, Jackie and Bonita had three children. Jackie had many hobbies, which included: hunting, fishing, camping, spending time with his family (especially his children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter), traveling, and taking pictures. Jackie was a family man who loved deeply and will be missed by many.
Jackie is preceded in death by his wife, Bonita; his parents, Otto and Minnie; four brothers, Loyd Combs, J.B. Combs, Dwight Combs, and Jimmy Dale Combs; two sisters; Edith Troxell and Georgia Fay. Jackie is survived by his three children: Michael Lynn Combs of Amarillo, TX; Tonya Rene' Deines (husband Jim) of Bayard, NE; Angela Dawn Tribbey (husband Scott) of Oklahoma City, OK. One brother, Otto (Doodle) Combs (wife Melba) of Duke, OK. Four grandchildren: Allsion Willson Kindred (husband Chris) of Amarillo, TX; Ashley Renee Griffith (husband Bryce) of Minatate, NE; Sarah Essence Flores of Amarillo, TX; Hayden Michael Tribbey of Edmond, OK. One great-grandchild, Olivia Nicole Kindred.
Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Altus City Cemetery, Altus, Oklahoma.
