He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Mangum from 1961 through its closure. Along with his belief in service to the Church, Jack believed in service to community. He served as a Rattlesnake Derby Director from the early 1960’s forward, as a City Councilman and Chamber of Commerce president, was a 3-term Mayor of Mangum and served within several other community-based groups.
Jack enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and friends.
