SINGLEY
JACK E. SINGLEY, age 68, a resident of Irving for 45 years, died Sunday, October 11, 2009 at his home. Born May 18, 1941 in Mangum, Oklahoma, he was the son of Rankin Key, Helen Jacobs Singley and Josephine Ricks Singley. On September 25, 1970 in Irving, he married Carolyn Pickett. Jack retired this year from the Irving Independent School District after 44 years of service.
Preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Singley, he is survived by his wife, Carolyn; son, Brandt Singley of Lewisville; daughter, Ryn Singley-Richards and son-in-law, Josh; granddaughter, Josie Richards, all of San Francisco, CA; twin brother, Edwin Jacob Singley of Irving; sisters and brothers-in-law, Freeman and Mary Pickett and Lou and Jo Ann Tambasco; seven nieces and nephews; eight great nieces and nephews; and a city of family and friends.
Funeral service will be held 4:30 p.m., Thursday, October 15, 2009 at First United Methodist Church in Irving with Mr. Grady King officiating. A graveside service will be at 3:30 p.m., Friday at Riverside Cemetery in Mangum, Oklahoma. Memorial contributions may be made to Irving Schools Foundation, Jack Singley Scholarship Fund, 2621 W. Airport Freeway, Irving, TX 75062, or to a charity of one"s choice. Greer Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
