Obituary for J. R. Miller
Funeral Services for J.R. Miller, age 69, of Eldorado, Oklahoma are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 12, 1994 at the First Baptist Church in Eldorado, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at the Eldorado Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home. Rev Ken Coleman will officiate.
Mr. Miller was born February 7th, 1925 in Eldorado, Oklahoma to Albert and Itha (Braker) Miller. Mr. Miller married Bobby Denton on March 26, 1949 in Kirkland, TX and she preceded him in death in 1983. Mr. Miller moved back to Eldorado in 1984 and married Lena Evelyn Richardson in Quanah, TX on July 23, 1984. Mr. Miller was a retired farmer, chairman of the Board and acting Mayor of Eldorado, member of the City Council since 1988 and a member of the SWODA Board headquartered in Burns Flat, and a member of the Abernathy First Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Lena Evelyn Miller of the home; three children, Collins Miller and wife Kirstie, Randy Miller and wife Wanda and Carroll Miller and wife Christy, all of Eldorado, Oklahoma; one brother, George Wesley Miller of Tuscon, AZ; one sister, Nina Easley of Van Horn, TX; four grandchildren, Chad, Colt, Justin and Jacob Miller; as well as a stepdaughter, Joan Gilliam of Perryton, TX; and a step-grandson, Trevin Gilliam of Lubbock, TX.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife, Bobby (Denton) Miller in 1983; a sister, Gladys Bremer.
