Obituary for Irmgard Allen - Powell (Tauber)
Irmgard Allen-Powell, Altus resident, passed away on June 20, 2022 at the Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City, OK. She was 82 years old at the time of her passing.

Irmgard was born in Numberg, Germany on November 10, 1939. She grew up in Numberg and graduated high school there. Irmgar worked as a nurse in Germany and moved to the United States in 1966 at the age of 27. She married Joe Powell and their union lasted until his death in 2017.

Irmgard worked for TG&Y and was employed by Walmart for 30 years where she served as a department manager. Outside of work, Irmgard enjoyed working with flowers in her gorgeous garden which she maintained meticulously. She also liked music, watching wrestling, crocheting, and watching her favorite shows: Rush Hour and the Golden Girls. Irmgard was extremely crafty and talented. She knew how to sew and was able to create custom rings and necklaces. Irmgard was extremely quick-witted and loved playing card games in her spare time.

On a personal level, Irmgard was a compassionate, caring person who loved her family deeply. She was the best mom ever! She did whatever it took to ensure that the needs of her family were met. The times that she spent with them were the times she cherished most. Getting her nails done by her granddaughter, Shannon, was time well-spent!

Irmgard leaves behind a legacy of love, family devotion, and true concern for others. She will forever be remembered in the hearts of all who knew her.

Irmgard was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Powell (2017) and her parents.

Left to honor her beloved memory are her children: Andrea Gambill; Chris Schlals and her husband, Geno; and Jon Allen and his wife, Kerry; 8 grandchildren: Michael Gambill (Lori), Shannon Gambill (Sam), Jessica Traczynski, Jamie Danzy, Taylor Allen, Alden Allen, Trevor Allen, and Logan Allen; 4 great-grandchildren: Kai Gambill, Gabriel Allen, Lincoln Molina and Eliyas Molina; her sister: Hennelue Ganzer; a nephew: Christian Ganzer (Silke); a great-nephew: Luis Ganzer; as well as other relatives, neighbors, and friends.
