Illando (Lando) Berrio Sawyer, SR sunset on December 13, 2018. He is survived by two daughters, Lakisha V. Sawyer (Cincinnati, Ohio) and Angela N. Stroman (Rock Hill, S.C). Lando was preceded in death by his only son, Illando B. Sawyer Jr., his parents, and two siblings. Lando retired from the United States Air Force in 1995. Post retirement, he became an associate of the Office of Juvenile Affairs in Altus, OK where he helped juveniles transitioned back into society. He was a faithful member of St. John Baptist Church and served as Chairman of Governing Board and Sunday School teacher. Lando was very active in the Altus community, helping others in any way that he could. He leaves to mourn and to continue his mission “Serving Othersâ€, to his daughters, five (5) granddaughters, Autumn and Marcus, sisters, brothers, and a host of family, friends, and co-worker; especially his Altus family community.
Services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, December 21, 2018 at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home; 1100 E. Tamarack Rd., Altus OK 73521. In lieu of flowers and donations please donate to your local non-profit organization making a difference in your community or do a good deed for someone. His daughters would like to thank the City of Altus, OK for being a family to their dad. He loved you all dearly.
