Obituary for Hubert L. Faulks
Hubert "Sonny" L. Faulks, a beloved husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at the age of ninety-one, surrounded by the love of his family, just as he lived: held close by the people who mattered most to him.
Born on October 26, 1933, in Clinton, Oklahoma to Hubert and Merle Jane (Crane) Faulks.
Sonny's life spanned nearly a century of change, growth, and love. He witnessed the world
transform in ways few ever do, and through it all, he remained a steady pillar of strength,
humility, and quiet wisdom.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Merle and Hubert L. Faulks, and by his seven
siblings: Mozelle, Mae, Billie, Janelle, Tiny, J.W., and Bobby, as well as his beloved
daughter, Donita Faulks. We take comfort in knowing he is reunited with them now, and
with his savior, Jesus Christ.
Sonny was a man who valued hard work and family above all. He dedicated most of his life to
Faulks and Son Drilling. From 1955 to 2025, he spent his days drilling water wells and
working on irrigation; helping to bring much-needed water to the farmers and people of
Southwest Oklahoma. Through this, he built not just a livelihood but a legacy. His hands were
calloused from labor, but his heart was always open. In work and in life, he was reliable, honest,
and grounded.
Sonny was also an avid car collector who still owned almost every car he ever collected. He
owned a car lot for several years, and when people couldn't make the payments, he didn't have
the heart to repossess the car and would wind up giving them their vehicle. Sonny's love,
influence, and generosity stretched far and wide, present in every family gathering, every lesson
passed down, and every quiet moment of reflection. He taught us that strength doesn't need to be
loud, that love is shown in actions more than words, and that family is a gift to be treasured
above all else.
He leaves behind a rich legacy through his loving wife of fifty-four years, Nancy Faulks,
daughter, Jacqi and husband John Kellison; Son, Lee Faulks, and daughter LuAnn Faulks; and
the many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who carry his legacy forward.
Today, we don't mourn the passing of Sonny Faulks - we celebrate his life. A life of devotion,
humility, and perseverance. A life lived fully, and well, and one that showed the love of Christ.
May we honor him by holding close the values he lived by, love, faith, hard work, and family.
And may we find comfort in knowing that while his body rests, his legacy lives on - in us.
Rest well, Sonny. You were deeply loved, and you will be deeply missed.
The Faulks family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Harmon County Funeral Home, Hollis, Oklahoma.

Services have been entrusted to Harmon County Funeral Home, Hollis, Oklahoma.
