Obituary for Herman Richard Adams
Herman R. Adams, age 90, of Altus, Oklahoma , passed away Saturday, August 16, 2003.
Herman was born August 22, 1912, at Royce City, Texas. He was the son of John Thomas and Laura Pearl (Parks) Adams. On July 29, 1933, Herman and Beedie Estelle Clgin were united in marriage at Elmer, Oklahoma. They enjoyed many happy years of marriage. In the 1950's Herman moved the family to Phoenix, Arizona where he went to work as a school custodian for the public school system. He loved and worked in Phoenix for 21 years before returning to the Altus area in 1978. In retirement, Herman enjoyed playing Dominoes, working in the yard and watching wrestling. He was a member of the First Assembly of god in Altus.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Beedie in 1985; two children, Herman Adams, Jr. in 1938 and Joyce Laverne Adams in 1948; and by two sisters, Edna Mae Graham and Francis Ballew.
Herman is survived by his two sisters, Don Nell Graves and husband Wayne, and Cloerene Mc Kelsy and husband Lloyd, all of Altus, Oklahoma; nieces, Linda Smith, Becky Vigil and Carol Frank; nephews, Tommy Graham, Gene Graham, Johnny Cox, James Cox, Billy Cox, and by numerous other great nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
