Obituary for Herbert Henry Gober
Herbert Henry Gober, age 85, of Altus, Oklahoma, died at Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City on Friday, December 18th, 1992.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday at the Thomas Street Church of Christ officiated by Bill Osborne and Jack Cummings. Burial will follow in the Restlawn Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
Born November 16th, 1907 at Eldorado, Oklahoma, he was the son of James and Willie Gober. He married Edith Doughten September 14, 1929 in Altus, Oklahoma. He was a life-long resident of Altus and Jackson County and also a member of the Thomas Street Church of Christ. He retired from Civil Service as an electrician after 22 years of service.
Survivors include: his wife, Edith Gober of the home in Altus, Oklahoma; three children, Eddie Gober and wife Marge of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Sue Bippes and husband Eddie of Orlando, FL and Joyce Higgins and husband Jim of El Cajon, CA; a sister, Ruth Goldstein of Houston, TX; eight grandchildren, Linda and Debbie Gober, Peggy and Eddie Gober, Jr., Danny andGary Bippes, Jimmy Higgins and Jill Hovis; seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; one sister; three brothers.
