Obituary for Henry Henard Goodlow
Henry H. Goodlow, the eldest son of 10 born to Gilbert Goodlow and Jessie Mae Weaver in Altus, Oklahoma on March 1, 1942.
Henry attended Lincoln School in Altus, Oklahoma where he completed the ninth grade. After finishing the ninth grade he started his first job working on a farm outside of Altus. His duties were attending the animals and farming the land. Then switching to working at the Coop Compress, starting in 1962 where he remained employed for several years until his retirement. During his employment he received a recognition and write up for his excellent performance and dedication of service to the company.
In the year 2013, Henry relocated to Lawton, Oklahoma. There he began to attend services with his daughter at the True Love Apostolic Faith Church. He enjoyed the services and made a great number of new friends. His love for Christ grew and expanded.
Approximately 3:00 a.m. Sunday morning, March 30, 2014, Henry exchanged his earthly garment for a heavenly robe. He was preceded in death by his parents Gilbert Goodlow and Jessie Mae Weaver, his sister Sophia Marie Goodlow and 2 brothers, Arthur Frank and Marcus Goodlow, and the Love of his Life, Debra Nowlin.
He leaves to cherish his memory his eldest son James A. Goodlow, of Washington; daughter Regina McGhee (Marvin McGhee) Lawton, son Gary Goodlow (Molly Goodlow) Altus, daughter Shelly Goodlow of Lawton, daughter Tasha Sonia (Donnie) Patterson Lawton, son Maurice Coleman of Ft. Hood, Texas, daughter Tausha Coleman of Las Vegas, son Tyrone Coleman of Oklahoma City, Brondalyn Coleman, Oklahoma City; 21 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren, brothers, Charles Goodlow (Patrica Goodlow) Altus, Ricky Goodlow (Debra Goodlow) Lawton, Richard Goodlow (Angela Goodlow) of Amarillo; three sisters Lanessa Curran (Alvin Chandler) Altus, Sharon Ricks (Matt Marshall) Duke, Henrietta Whitehead (Leonard Liddy) Altus, also special friends Dorothy McDuffie of Lawton, and Elaine Coleman of Texas; a host of nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.
Funeral services for Henry H. Goodlow are scheduled for 11:00 am Thursday, April 3, 2014 at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Pastor Joe R. Williams. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
