Helen Harris, 68 of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton, Oklahoma.
Helen was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas on June 25, 1951 the first of nine children to her parents Robert Lee Webb and Helen Joyce (Shields) Webb. She graduated highs school in Earle, Arkansas and went on earn her associate's degree at WOSC in Altus and went on to earn her bachelor's and master's degree at Cameron University in history. Helen was a middle school history teacher in Ft. Worth, Texas for many years. Later Helen went on to work for Walmart where she worked many years until she retired in 2018 and moved back to Altus, Oklahoma in 2019. Helen enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and taking care of family, and reading about history and she will be missed.
Preceded in death by her parents, her brother Johnny Franklin Webb; Helen is survived by her three children, Sarah Kurry and husband Daniel of Wanamingo, Minnesota; James Robert Harris and wife Connie of Casper, Wyoming; and Michael Paul Harris and wife Tammy Denise of Ft. Worth, Texas; three brothers, J.R. Webb and wife Dottie of Massachusetts; George Webb and wife Michelle of Altus; and Sam Webb and wife Wendy of Texas; four sisters, Mary Rambo and husband Dan of Indiana; Emma Williams and husband Albert of Altus; Pat Lockwood of Altus; and Sara and husband Ron of Wisconsin; grandchildren, Amy and Laura; John; Kira, Nicholas, Hailey, Veronica, Luke, and Charlie; great grandchildren, Caden and Dallas Renee; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, other family members, and many friends.
