Obituary for Hazel Ruth Stowe
Hazel Ruth Stowe, age 77, of Altus, Oklahoma, was born August 30th, 1920 in Turttle Creek, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Grants and Elizabeth (Jordon) Dodds. Mr. and Mrs. Stowe were former Altus residents, stationed at Altus Air Force Base during World War II. In 1994, they returned back to Altus to make their home. Mrs. Stowe passed away Wednesday, February 18th, 1998 in the Jackson County Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 23, 1998, in the Altus Memorial Cemetery with Sonny Tims officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
On April 1, 1945, she and Frank James Stowe were united in marriage at Portsmouth, Virginia. Mr. Stowe preceded her in death, September 21, 1994.
She is survived by: one sister, Sarah Uphoff of Connellsville, PA; seven nieces and nephews: Alvin M. Dodds of Rochester, New York, Alberta Nelson of Turttle Creek, Pennsylvania, Jackie Uphoff of North Huntington, PA, James Uphoff of Monroeville, PA, James P. Dodds of Rochester, NY, Ruth Ann Roy of Connellsville, PA and Kathleen Veltz of Rochester, New York.
