Obituary for Hazel Neomi Bailey
Hazel Neomi Bailey age 76 of Altus, Oklahoma died April 4 1969 in Memorial Hospital, Altus. She was born September 13, 1892 in Palmyra, Illinois to Godfrey and Mary Becktold. She married Gregg R. Bailey June 8, 1913. He preceded her in death August 10, 1975. Hazel owned, operated and cooked at the Bailey Grocery at 900 South Main from 1927 until 1963 when she retired. She had been a resident of southwest Oklahoma since 1925.
Funeral services for Hazel Neomi Bailey are scheduled for 2:00pm Monday April 7, 1969 at the Southside Baptist Church, Altus, officiated by Rev. Ronald Ledbetter. Burial will follow in the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.
Hazel Neomi Bailey is survived by one son Albert Bailey, of Fremont California; three daughters, Mrs. Thelma Shivers, Hobbs, New Mexico; Mrs. Ada Russell, Shawnee, Oklahoma; Mrs. Francis Lethgo, Ft. Gruber, Georgia; eleven grandchildren, three great grandchildren; three brothers, Alva Becktold, New Balder, Texas; Donald Becktold, New Balder, Texas; George Becktold, New Balder, Texas; two sisters, Mrs Martha Marshall, Houston, Texas; Mrs. Nora Kirk, Baytown, Texas.
