Obituary for Hazel Janette Causey
Hazel Causey, age 83, longtime Altus, Oklahoma resident, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2022 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Oklahoma City.
Hazel was born on May 18, 1938 in Gainesville, Florida to her parents Ed Zinnell and Hazel (Mayo) Zinnell. Hazel grew up in Florida and Atlanta, Georgia where she graduated high school. Shortly after high school Hazel married James H. Causey and they landed at Altus Air Force Base, Altus, Oklahoma m with James service in the Air Force. She loved being a military wife and taking care of her family. In later years, she worked at Sears and at the Acmi Shelter for Battered Women. Hazel loved her family very much and she always enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents and her son, Christopher Mark Causey; Hazel is survived by three children, Mike Causey and wife Susan of Atlanta, Georgia; Robin Causey and partner, Nancy Roberts of California; and Jean Thurmond of Altus; three grandchildren, Mat Causey and wife Kelsey of Altus; Christopher Wayne Yeager and fiance, Katie Bennett of Elk City; and Amanda Yeager of Burns Flat; six great grandchildren, Noah, Mark, Elijah, Alexa, Carter, and Greyson; as well as numerous other family members and many friends.
Private Graveside services will be held under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, Altus, Oklahoma.
