Obituary for Harold Richard Peterson
Funeral Services for Harrold Robert Peterson, age 91, will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday at the First Baptist Church of Roosevelt with Doug Henson and Bob Evans officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home of Altus.

Mr. Peterson died Friday, March 22nd, 2002 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Burial will be at the Altus City Cemetery.

He was born November 12, 1910 in Olustee, Oklahoma to Matilda Jane and Thomas Peterson. He graduated from Ozark High School in 1931. He married Lucille Castle on January 6, 1932 at the pastor's home in Friendship, Oklahoma. They spent over 40 years in the rural telephone business. Their company became the first rural dial system in the state of Oklahoma. Harrold was a member of the Roosevelt Lion's Club and a perpetual member of the Headrick Masonic Lodge #311.

Harrold is preceded in death by his mother and father; his brothers, Ralph, Marvin and Clifford; his sisters, Ethel Stout and Nellie Miller.

Harrold is survived by his wife of 70 years, Lucille Castle; his daughter and son-in-law Lou Thelen and Ronald Kemp; his son and daughter-in-law Dwight and Janis Stoup Peterson; his grandchildren, Ronald Nuburn Kemp, Jr., Luther Harrold Kemp, Wesley Don Kemp, Debora Dawn Peterson Wager and Don Wayne Peterson, their wives and husbands; great-grandchildren, Serenity Ann Kemp, Levi Nuburn Kemp, Tyler Don Kemp, Landon Holt Kemp, Rylee Lou Kemp, Laura Alyssa Kemp, Erin McKenzie Kemp, Kyle Don Wager, Kelsey Marie Wager, and Daniel Wade Peterson, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Harrold was a kind and generous benefactor to his community, neighbors, friends and family. He was a man of integrity, his word and handshake were his bond of commitment. He was devoted to his family, a hard worker and successful businessman. He will be missed and continually loved by his family as they strive to continue his legacy.

In lieu of flowers the family has suggested that memorials may be given to your favorite charity.
