Obituary for Grace Thompson
Grace Thompson, 93 of Altus, passed away Monday, April 28, 1997, at the Jackdon County Memorial Hospital. Services have been scheduled for 2 pm Wednesday at the Elm & Hudson Church of Christ with Ed Lobaugh and Bill Osborne officiating. Interment will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Mrs Thompson was born May 6, 1903, in Grayson County, Texas. she was the daughter of the late Joseph Lee and Florence Effie (Thomas) Grose. She lived in the Jackson County area most of her life. On June 6, 1923, she and Ora Guy Thompson were united in marriage. Mr. Thompson receded her in death on March 28, 1963. Mrs Thompson taught school for several years at Manitou, Oklahoma before going to work for the Altus Public School System as an assistant cook. She was a long time, devoted member of the Elm and Hudson Church of Christ.

Survivors include children; Ora Guy Thompson ;and wife Beverly of Altus, Oklahoma; Carl Lloyd Thompson and wife Wanda of Littlefield, Texas; Glenda Lucille Stubbefield and husband Jack of Spade, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Preceded in death by his parents; husband, Ora Guy Thompson on 3-28 1963; daughters; Patsy Ann Williamson, Betty June Maxwell.
