Obituary for Gloria Ann Chilson
Gloria Chilson, 88
Our beloved Mom and Grandma returned home to her Heavenly Father on March 17, 2020. Mom grew up in Bradford, PA and married the love of her life, Donald W. Chilson on July 15, 1950. Mom and Dad were married 65 years before Dad passed away. They lived and traveled to many countries during their life in the Air Force before retiring to Mangum, OK.
Preceded in death by her husband Don and son Don Chilson Jr. She is survived by her daughter Dianna Koegler and husband Frank, sister Jane Wegemer, daughter-in-law Billie Chilson, grandkids Shawn Whetstone and husband Terry, Dawn Bell and husband Nathan, Renee Butler and Melissa Koegler. Three great grandkids Matthew Whetstone, Cassandra Whetstone and Zoey Butler.
Mom enjoyed the slow pace of Mangum and her weekly outing to the "Hen House" to get her hair done and chat with the ladies. We will miss her beautiful smiling face and sense of humor which she kept till the end. Love you and miss you Mom!
We would like to thank Shawn and Terry Whetstone for helping care for Mom and Dad throughout the years and for being there in the final days no matter how tough it got. We are very thankful for all the angels here on earth that helped care for Mom while she built the path back home to our Lord. Our special Angels include Shawn, Terry, Frank and several people from Jackson County Hospice. Beverly was Mom's special angel that provided compassion and comfort in such a loving way. Shawn and Terry brought happiness and laughter to the room and a smile to Mom's face. I am truly blessed to have a loving and supportive husband for whom I thank so much for being my rock. May God bless them all for their kindness.
In light of the world situation we will not have visitation or services. Burial services will be family only. Thanks to Greer Funeral Home for assisting with the final arrangements.
