Obituary for Glenn B. Phifer
Glenn B. Phifer, age 75, of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, January 3rd, 1998 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Glenn was born March 5th, 1922 at Alfalfa, Oklahoma to the late Andy J. and Lourena (Rowan) Phifer .
On October 20, 1946 at Grandfield, OK he and Imogene Lagrone were united in marriage.
He was a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Air Force as a Sergeant. He worked at United Supermarket as Meat Manager and later owned and operated Glen's Grocery. He retired from Civil Service.
Mr. Phifer was a longtime member of the VFW, Kiwanis Club, Elks Club, American Legion and was a 32nd Degree Mason. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Altus.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Tuesday, January 6, 1998 at 2:00p.m. in the Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Wiginton, Sonny Tims and Pastor James Watson officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
Survivors include: his wife, Imogene of the home; one son, Dennis L. and his wife Barbara of Altus, Oklahoma; two sisters, Eula Stienley of Carnegie, OK and Clara Hayes of Clinton, OK; two grandchildren, Dennis Allen Phifer and Adam Duke Phifer.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Kay Delynne Phifer in 1949 and two brothers.
