Obituary for Gladys Ila Pickens
Gladys Ila Pickens was born February 22nd, 1906 at Davis, Oklahoma. She died February 5, 1994 at Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Tom and Maude Anderson. She married John J. Pickens September 12, 1925 at Davis, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death in 1982. She was a homemaker, member of the Methodist Church and had been a resident of Duke and Jackson County since 1980 coming here from Davis, Oklahoma.
Services are scheduled for 10 A.M. Tuesday at the Duke Methodist Church with Rev. Ginny Hathaway officiating. Interment will be in the Rock Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.
Survivors include: three children, Helen Bilbrey and husband Cleo of Duke, Oklahoma, Ross Pickens and his wife Henrietta of Thomas, OK and Bill Pickens and his wife Harolene of Wichita, KS; four sisters, Tommie Whiteley of California, Lucinda Woods and Vernette Anderson, both of Davis, Oklahoma, and Martha Wallace of Duncan, OK; four grandsons, Larry Pickens, John Warren Pickens, Greg Pickens and Robert Alexander; three granddaughters, LuAnn Schaaf, Risa Parker and Kathy Hayter; nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, John J. Pickens, 1982; a brother and four sisters.
