Obituary for Gertrude Ruth Cox
Gertrude Ruth Cox, age 84, passed away Monday, November 23rd, 1998 in the Noble Health Center at Noble, Oklahoma. She was born March 13th, 1914 at Hydro, Oklahoma to the late Emmanuel and Grace Tucker. Mrs. Cox had lived in the Jackson County area since 1956.
On December 11, 1942 she and Alonzo Lee Cox were united in marriage. He preceded her in death December 29, 1986.
Mrs. Cox worked in Altus for Dr. Robert Burdick and the Bunker Hill Snack Bar for many years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister.
Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, November 25, 1998 at 11:00 a.m. in the Lowell Tims Funeral Home with Sonny Tims officiating. Burial will follow in the Restlawn Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
Survivors include three children, Brenda Miller and husband William of Guthrie, OK, Sterling Cox and wife Joyce of Norman, OK, Myrna Wells of Altus, Oklahoma; one brother, Fred Tucker and wife Verla of Eakley, OK; four grandchildren, Sean Cox, Jeremy Cox, Jason Wells, Erin Miler; one great-grandchild, Pamela Marie Cox.
She is preceded by her parents, and husband, Alonzo Lee Cox.
The family will be greeting friends Wednesday, November 25, 1998 at 10:00 a.m. at Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
