Obituary for Gertie Lou 'Jessie" Pitts
Jessie Pitts, age 81, passed away Wednesday, April27, 2005 at Plantation Village Care Center.
She was born January 7, 1942 in Wilson, Oklahoma to Willie Andrew and Rose Olivia (Reiser) Arnold.
On June 22, 1944 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Jessie married Harlan Pitts. He preceded her in death April 4, 1994.
Jessie worked for many years at Kellwood as a shipping clerk. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, she enjoyed spending time with her husband, family and friends, she was an avid fishing.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, one sister, one son, Joe Pitts and one granddaughter, Jennifer Jo.
Jessie is survived by tow daughters, Gayla Sturgess, of Altus, Oklahoma, and Ellen London and husband Steve of Chillicothe, Texas and eleven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Graveside services are scheduled for Saturday, April 30, 2005 at 2:00 pm at the Altus City Cemetery with Rev. Margie Van Oostrum officiating, under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Family will greet friends Friday evening April 29, 2005 from 6:00 to &:30 pm.
