While in college Dale supported his family by working at Whites Furniture Company and he also drove a truck for Wonder Bread.

Dale spent most of his adult life working in finance. He worked at Pacific Finance and the National Bank of Commerce in Altus, Dale and Gayle later purchased the First State Bank of Eldorado. Dale loved working with his family, at one time or another, the entire family was involved in the bank at Eldorado. He also spent many years farming and ranching, once again involving his family.
