Gale Richard Smith
Gale Richard Smith, age 63 of Olustee Oklahoma passed away Thursday, March 16th, 2000 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. He was born March 10, 1937 in Crystal Valley, Michigan to William And Mildred (Whitaker)Smith. He married Twylah Parnell on June14, 1958 in Vernon, Texas. Together they raised four children. She preceded him in death on June 9th, 1993. On May 12, 1998 at the First Baptist Church in Olustee, Marjorie M. Grayson and Gale Richard Smith were united in marriage.
He entered the U. S. Air Force July 1, 1955 and retired as a Tech. Sergeant, on August 1, 1975. He was later employed by McPherson Ford, Jim Click Chevrolet, and Lloyd Smith's L & B auto. He retired from Civil Service in 1996.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Olustee and was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Headrick.
He is survived by his wife Marjorie M. Smith of the home in Olustee, six children: Ricki Smith and wife Ruby of Altus, Frank Edward and wife Patty of Altus, William Smith and wife Amanda ;of Olustee, Randy Smith Smith and wife Andrea of Altus, Stephen Grayson of Olustee, Michael Grayson and wife Gloria of Blair, two sisters; Beverly Hanson and husband Don of Hart, Michigan, Shirley Jablonski and husband Cliff of Rochester Hills, Michigan and twelve grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Twylah Smith; one brother, Russell Smith.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday March 18, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. i the Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Edwin Wiginton II officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Cemetery at Mangum , Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
Family will be receiving vistors at Lowell Tims Funeral Home Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund @Olustee in memory of Gale Richard Smith.
