Obituary for Fred Scoggin
Fred M. Scoggin, age 81, a resident of Bogalusa, LA and former long time resident of Altus and Jackson County, died January 25th, 1994 at the Bogalusa Community Medical Center. He was born October 20, 1912 in Olustee, OK. He was employed by the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture for 30 years. He was also the owner of S&S Greyhound Kennels and a charter member of the National Greyhound Association. He was inducted into the Greyhound Hall of Fame in 1982.
Services are scheduled for 2 P.M. Saturday at the Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel and interment will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
The family will greet friends at the Lowell Tims Funeral Home from 5 P.M. to 9 P.M. Friday.
Survivors include: one child, Dr. Eddie B. Scoggin of Bogalusa, Louisiana; a brother, Leslie R. Scoggin of Ft. Bragg, CA; five sisters, Irene Brock of Altus, OK, Mabel Parker of Quanah, TX, Jewell Brock of Corpus Christi, TX, Nora Lee Bingham of Sallisaw, OK and Jean Stanford of Rosenberg, TX; three grandchildren, Susan Malone of Metairie, LA, Scott Scoggin of Slidell, LA and Steve Scoggin of Mandeville, LA; two great-grandchildren, Amy Wethey of Metairie, LA and Christen Wethey, also of Metairie, LA.
He was preceded in death by: his wife, Evelyn Scoggin, September 17, 1992; a sister, Thelma Webb and a brother Albert Scoggin.
