Fred Perryman, age 89 of Duke, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday morning, July 10, 2016 at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
Fred was born April 19, 1927 northeast of Duke near the home site of his pioneer grandparents, Alonzo Thomas and Zenobia (Wilson) Perryman. His parents were Thomas Edwin Perryman and Gertrude (Wheeler) Perryman. He attended school in Duke. Fred joined the United States Navy and served his country during World War II. After his service he completed his senior year of high school. He married Bonnie B. Foreman, his childhood sweetheart, on April 6, 1947 and they enjoyed over 69 years of marriage together. They lived in the Duke community until 1956. He moved to Stillwater and received his degree in Agriculture Education. He was vocational agriculture instructor at Butler, Oklahoma for a few years and then began working with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He served in this capacity in several areas of Oklahoma " Walters, Okmulgee, Okemah, and Clinton. After 25 years in Clinton, he retired and moved back to his rural home in Duke. Fred accepted the Lord at age 7 and received him as a great partner for his lifetime of service. He was ordained as a deacon at the Hillcrest Baptist Church while he was in school at O.S.U. He was a great husband, father, grandad and great grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Gertrude Perryman; brothers, Ted and Tom Perryman; and his sister, Wilma Warren; Fred leaves behind his wife Bonnie of the home; three sons, Philip Perryman and wife Lana of Apache; Fred Arlen Perryman and wife Lillian of Edmond; and Dale Perryman and wife Sezen of Dallas; his daughter, Freda Beall and husband Charles of Bixby; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am, Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at the Baptist Church in Duke with interment following at the Duke Rock Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, Altus, Oklahoma.
