Obituary for Frank Lopez Saldana
Frank Saldana, age 83, longtime resident of Gould, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at his home in Gould.
Frank was born on February 1, 1937 in San Antonio, Texas to his parents Francisco and Angela Lopez Saldana. Frank was raised and lived in San Antonio for 41 years until he moved to Gould where he made Gould his home. On December 8, 1979 Frank married Sally Saldana at the Templo la Hermosa Church in Hollis and they have enjoyed over 40 years of marriage together. He worked for both Lancers and the Dodson Gins for a few years then later worked for the Harmon County District 3 in Gould where he finally retired after 23 years. Frank was a longtime member of the Templo la Hermosa Church in Hollis for over 23 years where he served as the Pastor, Deacon, and president of the Templo la Hermosa Men’s Group. He also served with the Exhorter of the Gospel Word as ordained by the Unified Pentecostal Local Churches International, Incorporated. Frank enjoyed jogging, fishing, watching his New England Patriots football, and especially his San Antonio Spurs basketball games "Go Spurs". He also enjoyed playing dominoes with his coworkers to pass time. But most of all, Frank loved God, his family, and Frank loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents Francisco and Angela Lopez Saldana; brothers, Antonio Saldana; Cristobal Saldana; and Anastacio Saldana; sisters, Jane Perez; Esther Martinez; Patsy Martinez; and Susie Vasquez; nephews, Ernie Perez; Paul Loredo; Danny Loredo; Tony Saldana; Frank Martinez; Manuel Vasquez; and Roland Martinez.
Frank is survived by his wife Sally Saldana of their home; daughter, Tiffany Saldana of Gould; stepdaughters, MaryAnn and husband Michael of Hollis; and Melissa Garces and husband Jerry of Hollis; his sister, Flora Saldana of Fontana, California; grandchildren, Glenn Hickman, Alyssa Hickman, and Isaiah Zepu all of Gould; Jeremiah Garces, Jonathan Garces, and Faith Mills all of Hollis; Chantel Mclaughlin, Cayla Watson, Carey Salazar, and Crista Castillo all of Hollis; many great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends.
Visitation services will be from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, August 7, 2020 at the Templo la Hermosa Church in Hollis.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at the Harmon County Funeral Home Chapel in Hollis with interment following at Gould Cemetery.
