Obituary for Floyd D Cartwright
Floyd (Pappy) Cartwright, 85, a longtime resident of Mangum, Oklahoma, went to his heavenly home on July 19, 2021, surrounded by his family.

Floyd was born on August 18, 1935, in Waldron, Arkansas to the late William Cecil Cartwright and Viola (Wilson) Cartwright. As a child he moved to Oklahoma then to Arizona. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1952 proudly serving aboard the USS Arnold J. Isbell and was honorably discharged in 1956.

Floyd was blessed by God with a beautiful and loving family. He married the love of his life, Ola Mae Langston, on October 31, 1957. This marriage was blessed with five children.

Floyd was a licensed electrician, heat & air repairman, and a carpenter but his heart and passion was always ministry as an ordained minister. The focal point of his life was always his relationship with Jesus Christ. He dedicated his children to God and encouraged them to explore the beauty of the gospels and to have a personal relationship with Jesus. He was a member and associate pastor of the Rose Assembly Church where he also taught Sunday School and bible study. He was always helping people, serving them in any way he could. There were many blessings that he bestowed on this community that he never spoke of. He could always be counted on to help with any work that needed to be done whether it was to fix something or be a caring friend just to listen. He also enjoyed fishing but what brought him the most joy was spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death my his wife of fifty years, Ola Mae Cartwright; daughter, Janice Cartwright; father, Cecil Cartwright; mother, Viola Cartwright Riddle; sister, Elsie Cartwright; and a grandson, Billy McNutt.

Left to honor his memory is his son, Gary Cartwright and wife Tami; daughters, Patricia McNutt and husband Bill, Lisa Gorrell and Annette McGuffee, all of Mangum, Oklahoma; sister, Martha Johnson of Seminole, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Gary Cartwright and wife Jackie, Amanda Augustine and husband Scott, Cary McNutt, Tabricia Harpole, Brently Weaver, Stacey Fox and husband Jesse, and Matthew Gorrell; great grandchildren, Ashli Cartwright, Alexis, MaKayla, and Nathan Augustine, Haley McNutt, Brooklyn Weaver, Lexie and Bryer Fox; numerous nieces, nephews, and church family.
