Obituary for Faye Colhouer
Faye Colhouer was born March 11, 1911 in Jackson County. She was the daughter of the late James Walter and Etta Lenora (Knox) Gregory. She passed away July 6, 2003 in Altus.
Faye married Virgil Colhouer, September11, 1928 in Altus, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death, September 17, 1974.
Faye was a life long resident of Altus and Jackson County. She worked as a nurse' aide in the nursery at Jackson County Memorial Hospital for many years. She attended porter High and Friendship Schools. She loved working with her hands and being a farmer's wife.
She is survived by five children, Vigril Leen Killgore and husband, Jessie Lee, of Anchorage, Alaska, Etta Faye Conger and husband Don of Headrick, Oklahoma, Iva Joyce Zajac and husband Gerard of Lafayette, Colorado, John D. Colhouer and wife, Sherry of Altus, Oklahoma, Gary L. Colhouer and wife, Deborah of Headrick, Oklahoma. She is also survived by one sister, Doris Helen Prock, of Houston, Texas, twelve grandchildren and thirty-four great grandchildren.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Virgil Colhouer, two grandsons, Chad Colhouer and John Colhouer, one sister and three brothers.
Graveside services are scheduled for Wednesday, July 9, 2003 at 4:00 pm at the Navajoe Cemetery with Charles Waugh officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
