Obituary for Evelyn "Elveta" Davis
Evelyn "Elveta" (Gray) Davis, age 75, a longtime resident of Blair, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2018 at her home in Blair.

Elveta was born in Wilburton, Oklahoma on September 27, 1942 to her parents Mack and Enid (Gabbard) Gray. She grew up in Wilburton until the family moved to Blair in 1958 where she met the love of her life Thomas "Tommy" Edward Davis and they were united in marriage on February 28, 1962 in Blair and they enjoyed over 56 years of marriage together. Elveta and Tommy lived in Blair and few years later moved to Dallas, Texas in 1967 until they moved back to Blair where they have resided since 1972. Elveta worked at the cafe across from the high school in Blair as a cook and a waitress, she worked for the Blair School cafeteria for many years from 1981 until 2004 and retired as manager of the cafeteria. She attended the Assembly of God Church in Blair and was a member of the Blair First Baptist Church since 1972 where she enjoyed teaching Sunday School and Mission Friends and she also cooked at Falls Creek and the Southwest Baptist Assembly. She was active in the Blair Homemakers and the Blair Grandmothers Club. Elveta had numerous hobbies that included, crocheting, poetry writing, reading, dancing, helping with the Blair Bluegrass festival, fishing and camping, baking and decorating wedding and birthday cakes, bowling and her time with Tommy on the bowling team. But most of all, Elveta treasured the time being with her friends, her family, and her grandchildren and she will be missed very much.

Preceded in death by her parents Mack and Enid Gray; three brothers, Walter "Red" Gray; Marvin "Moe" Gray; and Billy "Mack" Gray; two sisters, Norma Dean Gray; and Mary Etta Gray; and her infant great grandson William Walter in 2017. Elveta is survived by her Husband Thomas "Tommy" Davis; two sons, Michael Lee Davis and wife Michelle; and Steven Thomas Davis and wife Crystal; two daughters, Sherri Lyn Dean and husband Clint; and Rebecca SuzAnne Tucker and husband David; three brothers, Bob Gray and wife Karyl Ann; Don Gray and wife Nelda; and Carl Gray and wife Sheila; twelve grandchildren, James Dean, Amanda Greer, John Dean, Katie Dean, and Bethany Dean; Joe Davis and Tiffany Karraker; Sarah Brooks, Rachel Tucker, and Micah Tucker; Taylor Davis and Dixon Davis; eight great grandchildren, Kamrin Karraker, Michael Karraker, and Iris Davis; Grayce Keller, Elizabeth Dean, and Mathias Dean; Izabella Sandoval and Ezra Brooks; her sisters-in-law, Rose Gray and Jackie Gray; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, many other family members and friends.

The family will greet friends at visitation from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday evening, July 9, 2018 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at the Blair First Baptist Church with interment following at Blair Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, Altus, Oklahoma.
