In 1966, Esteban begin working at Altus Air Force Base. Former President Bill Clinton even asked Esteban to the White House to receive an award for his faithful service to his country and to Altus Air Force Base. After forty-nine years of service, Esteban retired from his job at Altus Air Force Base.
A huge part of Esteban’s life was his devotion to his faith. Esteban served his church, Prince of Peace Catholic Church, working in any way he could. He would help maintain the grounds, the facilities, and any other job that was needed. Making sure his children were raised and educated in the church was of the upmost importance to Esteban. All nine of his children were baptized, received communion, and confirmed in the church. Esteban was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus and was in the fourth level. He served his church with the same dedication he served the Air Force.
Esteban enjoyed bowling in leagues, watching the Dallas Cowboys and Altus Bulldog football. He truly enjoyed people and never met a stranger.
